How To Host An Unforgettable Product Launch Party

If you’re planning on launching a new product in the coming months, then why not host a product launch party?

After all, a successful launch party can:

However, if you’ve not hosted this kind of event before, it can be hard to know where to start - which is where this guide comes in! Below are some useful tips that you can use to host an unforgettable product launch party!

Find the perfect venue.

Many brick and mortar businesses chose to host product launches at their physical premises or store. However, for e-commerce companies, this is not really an option, which means that you’ll need to hire a venue for your event. For example, this could include a local bar or restaurant or a more general event space. When picking out a venue, think carefully about:

  • Your budget for the event

  • How accessible the location/venue is

  • What amenities you’ll need access to during the event

  • How many people you expect to have in attendance

You can find great spaces on Peerspace to rent, too. And if you happen to be in the vicinity of Akron, Ohio, you can even rent my studio!

Incentivize attendance.

In order to ensure that you get a good turnout at your event, you may need to find some way to incentivize attendance. You could hand out free product samples to everyone in attendance, or invite special guests that your customers would be interested to see in person.

For example, if you run a cosmetics company, you could invite a top makeup artist to host a masterclass using your new products. Alternatively, if you run a company that specializes in home decor, you could arrange for an interior designer to give a speech to your audience, sharing useful tips with them and recommending specific products from your company.

Rent a claw machine.

Many businesses give out free products during launch events, but you could make this even more memorable for your customers through Claw Machine Rental. When renting this old-fashioned arcade game, you can fill the base machine with some of your own products, giving customers the chance to win big prizes and have fun while doing so.

When handing out free products, be sure to give customers the information they need to buy things at a later date, too, such as a catalogue.

Create plenty of photo opportunities.

When decorating the venue ahead of the event, try to create as many photo ops as possible. For example, you could hire a red carpet for customers to take pictures on or a photobooth. Not only does this make the event more fun, but it also means they’re more likely to share pictures from the events on their own social media, which can increase your online engagement.

In addition to this, you can use any photographs taken at the event in your own promotional material, whether you’re writing up a blog post about the product launch or scheduling some social media content.

Pick the right music.

Choosing the right background music is also important when planning an event for your business. After all, this can help set the tone of the event, whether you’re trying to create a calm, relaxing atmosphere or something a little more exciting. As such, you should take some time to put together a playlist ahead of time! If you’re looking to pull out all of the stops, consider hiring a DJ or musician to keep the party going!

Think about catering.

Catering can also make or break your event, mainly because it gives guests a reason to stick around for the duration, as opposed to leaving when they’ve been given their freebies. When choosing which food and drink to serve, remember to cater to a wide range of dietary restrictions and requirements. For example, if you are going to be serving Hors d'oeuvres, you should have a meat-free option available.

When it comes to drinks, try putting together some signature cocktails or mocktails that are themed around your latest product! Alternatively, you can simply rename classic cocktails!

Send out invites.

Sending out invites ahead of time is another great way to ensure that you have a great turnout on the day. For example, you could start by inviting customers who have signed up to your mailing list and encouraging them to RSVP by a certain date. You can then post a similar invite on your social media pages. This way, you should have an idea ahead of time as to how many people will be in attendance.
